A V A Z is a project uniting Persian mystical poets (12th & 13th centuries : Hafez, Rîmî, Khayyâm, etc.) and traditional Breton gwerzioù (laments). The subject of love is developed by Annie Ebrel and Mayram Chemirani, between meditative laments and lyric inspirations, alternately in Persian and Breton.
To accompany these songs, Keyvan Chemirani (percussions), Hamid Khabbazi (târ) and Sylvain Barou (flutes) form a subtle settings of crossed rhythms to emphasise the unique characters of the two repertoires, playing traditional pieces and original compositions.
